Fashola to Lagosians: To enjoy FG’s benefits, vote Ambode

Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State on Saturday advised the electorate to make sure they thumbprint properly on ballot papers so that their votes would count.
He also said for Lagosians to enjoy benefits from the Federal Government as from May 29, they must vote for the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Akinwumi Ambode, on April 11.
Fashola, at the APC campaign rally in Agege, said that over 52,000 votes were cancelled in the March 28 presidential elections in the state.
“I want all those 52,000 votes to be counted for APC in the April 11 governorship and House of Assembly elections. All of the 52,000 of you who had their votes cancelled, you have to do that work again in addition to those who will vote,” Fashola said.
He said that every voter should ensure that the ink on his ballot paper is dry before dropping it in the ballot box.
Fashola urged the people to vote massively for Ambode, saying that the state would do better if it was in the same party with the Federal Government.
The governor said that there would be synergy between the Major-General Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government administration and a Lagos State APC- led administration.
“When Lagos was the capital, it used to get support for bridges, roads, security and ecology, among others.
“In the last 16 years, all federal government roads were maintained by the state government. We have spent N51 billion to maintain federal assets in the state,” he said.
Fashola appealed to the people to support and vote massively for the APC in the governorship elections.
“The people of Lagos must continue on the path of excellence, which the APC represents. To enjoy Federal Government’s benefits, vote Ambode,” Fashola said.
