Family: Enugu Health Commissioner dies of chronic kidney disease

Enugu State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Anthony Ugochukwu, has died after a protracted struggle with chronic kidney disease, a family source has revealed.

A statement on Saturday by the family representative, Dr. Kingsley Ugochukwu, announcing the death of the surgeon, said that the deceased died on April 3, 2020 at the Memphy’s Hospital, Enugu.

Ugochukwu was until his death a Consultant Surgeon and immediate past Provost, Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) College of Medicine.

He was appointed as commissioner after Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi secured his second term ticket.
