Super Falcons of Nigeria have been drawn against former African champions, Equatorial Guinea, in the Rio 2016 Olympics qualifier third round billed for July.
The coach, Edwin Okon, who progressed against Mali without kicking the ball, will travel to Bata to face the Nzalang Nacional who edged out Congo 7-0 on aggregate between July 15-17, 2015 with the second leg holding in Abuja between 31 July – 2 August, 2015.
The Equatorial Guinea side boast of four Nigerians in their fold and this will no doubt pose a big threat to the African champions’ Rio dream. Tobilola Windapo, goalkeeper Ruth Sunday, Uzoamaka Igwe and Aju Francisca featured in the Nzalang Nacional 7-0 aggregate win against Congo.
Cameroon and Ivory Coast also advanced after Liberia and Tunisia withdrew respectively in the second round.
The Indomitable Lionesses will battle the Black Queens, who dumped out Egpyt 4-1 on aggregate in the second round. While Ivory Coast will slug it out with Zimbabwe who ejected Zambia on away goals.
The first leg of the third round qualifier stage will hold on 17-19 July, 2015, with the second leg to hold two weeks later.
