A factional Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Chief Digar Ezewanfor, who claimed to have been elected as the presidential candidate of Labour Party for the 2023 general elections has officially withdrawn from the race.

In a letter to the leadership of the Labour Party and Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC copy of which was sighted by Freedom Online, Ezewanfor regretted venturing or laying claim as the elected candidate of the party.

He argued he is pulling out of the race for the party’s presidential race due to personal reasons.

The politician was the immediate Senior Special Assistant to ex-governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State on Politics and Strategy.

He was also said to have worked with Peter Obi, as his Chief of Protocol during his first term as Governor of Anambra State.

He said, “I hereby withdraw from the forthcoming election in 2023.
