Leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) and party faithfuls in Ezeagu local government area of the state on Saturday met at Aguobu-Owa, headquarters of the local government area to deliberate on the issues bothering the party, and pledged unalloyed support for the state governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon,(Dr.) Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
Speaking at the event, the Deputy Governor of Enugu state, Her Excellency, Hon. (Mrs) Cecilia Ezeilo thanked Governor Ugwuanyi for his good governance in the state, for choosing her as his Deputy and for appointing so many sons and daughters of Ezeagu local government area.
Ezeilo ,who said that governor Ugwuanyi has done a lot for Ezeagu people, pledged unalloyed support for governor Ugwuanyi and stated that she will follow the political direction of the governor in 2023 elections.
She said that governor Ugwuanyi has enthroned peace in Enugu state, describing him as the most peaceful governor in Nigeria.
The Deputy governor also thanked Governor Ugwuanyi for his good works in Health, Education , Agriculture ,Security and other sectors . Ezeilo therefore urged the people of Ezeagu local government area to continue to support govermor Ugwuanyi and follow his political direction.
Speaking also at the event, the Chief of staff to Governor Ugwuanyi, Rt. Hon. (Dr) Festus Uzoh, commended Governor Ugwuanyi for his good works in the state and for appointing him as his Chief of staff. He pledged his support for the governor.
Uzoh took the the people on a memory lane, saying, “We have always followed the due procedures which is anchored on Consultations and references on how the previous was done.
In his speech, the local government chairman, Hon. Chukwudi Ozoeluba, thanked the people for voting him as the Council’s chairman. He appealed for their support and prayers for his administration.
He spoke on the issue of zoning of various political positions and told the gathering that he cannot take decision alone. “I can’t seat on my Executive Chair and decide on who goes in for one position or not because I hold the mandate of the good people of Ezeagu Igbudu and not a personal mandate”.
“We did this because I am a product of zoning and we will continue on the equity, fairness and justice enthroned by our Principal, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi”.
It was agreed that each zone should submit their list accordingly in the next two weeks.The meeting was attended by all Ezeagu Stakeholders.
In a similar development, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ezeagu Local Government chapter held her first monthly meeting for the year 2022,
same day at Christ the King Catholic church field in Aguobu Owa .
The Chairman of the Party Hon. Anayo Chude thanked the party faithfuls for always supporting the party and obeying its norms and ethics .
Hon. Chude reinstated the party’s loyalty and commitment to the leader Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi in all situations.
The speakers at the Party meeting include, the Deputy Governor of Enugu state, Her Excellency, Hon.(Barr.) Cecilia Ezeilo, , Chief of Staff to the Governor of Enugu state, Rt. Hon. Dr. Festus Uzor,
Member representing Ezeagu Constituency in Enugu state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Barr.)Chima Obieze,
Chairman of Ezeagu L.G.A and ALGON vice Chairman of Enugu state, Hon. Chukwudi Ozoeluba, former Chairman of Ezeagu L.G.A ,Hon Chukwudi Marius Ani, Hon. Julius Ogbuke, and Barr. Mrs. Ada Odeh. They all pledged their support and loyalty to the Governor of Enugu state, saying his Leadership style has enthroned Peace, unity and progress in the state.
The State Executive members of the PDP who attended the meeting included the Enugu state PDP woman Leader , Mrs. Vera Ezugwu and Hon. Emeka Chinevu, Enugu West PDP youth Leader.
Mrs. Vera Ezugwu thanked the people of Ezeagu local government area for their commitment and loyalty to the Governor of Enugu state.The meeting was well attended by the party members and Stakeholders .
