Wike’s media aide dies

Dead

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Alhaji Aminu Saleh, is dead.
A family source said Saleh, 87, died on Wednesday morning at the Federal Medical Centre, Azare, Bauchi State.
The deceased left behind one wife and 18 children.
Among his children is the immediate past Deputy Governor of the North-East state, Alhaji Sagir Saleh.
Former Governor of the state, Malam Isa Yuguda, in a condolence message, described the death of the elder statesman and one time Head of Service to the Federal Government as a “great loss to the country”.

Yuguda, in a statement in Bauchi, also described the death as a monumental loss not only to his immediate family, Katagum Emirate and the state, but to the entire country.

He recalled that he had enjoyed fatherly advices from Saleh during his tenure as governor of the state between 2007 and 2015.

He said the deceased was always frank and straight forward on matters that border on good governance and leadership, adding that the late elder statesman allowed his son, Sagir Aminu Saleh, to serve as his deputy between 2011 and 2015.
Sympathisers from within and outside the state have been trooping to the residence of the deceased to pay condolence on the family.
