Ex-Minister Waziri heads PDP Constitution Amendment Committee

The Meeting of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), held today, Wednesday, the 13th of September, 2017 at the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja; and it arrived at the following two major decisions:

1. On Constitution Amendment: the BoT has set up a seven (7) member Committee under the Chairmanship of the former Minister of Police Affiars, Alhaji Adamu Maina Waziri. The Chairman, Alhaji Waziri is to consult with the six zones to get nominations for membership of the Committee. The Committee’s work is to draft the BoT’s input to be forwarded to the National Caretaker Committee on the ongoing Constitution Amendment in the Party.

2. On the Election of Secretary to the Board of Trustees (BoT): The Meeting mandated the Chairman, Sen. Walid Jubrin to pick an Acting Secretary who will cease to function after the December National Convention, and to be replaced by a substantive elected secretary.

Finally, the body also discussed other issues that are of importance to the Party and the well-being of the Country.
