Ethiopia’s Legesse, Messeret win fourth Access Bank Lagos City Marathon

Sintayehu Legesse and Dinke Messeret of Ethiopia have won the male and female categories respectively of the 4th  Access Bank Lagos City Marathon above the 20,000 runners that participated.
Legesse crossed the finish line with a time of 2:17:27secs, while the Messeret finished her race with a time of 2:47:58secs.
Both athletes carted away the $50,000 prize for the winners in each category, the second position got $40,000 and the third position $30,000.

In the male category, Kenya’s Joshua Kipkorir returned 2:18:14secs to place second, while Ethiopia’s Yegon William who returned a time of 2:19:02secs came third position.
Germa Teshome of Ethiopia returned fourth position, posting a time of 2:20:09secs, Kenwa Nichols of Kenya was in the fifth position with a time of 2:20:55secs.
In the female category, Ethiopia’s Herepa Alemnshe came second with a time of 2:49:01secs, while her compatriot, Kebena Chala Kebena returned a time of 2:49:04secs to clinch third position and Tanui Rhoda placed with 2:50:2secs.
Elizabeth Rumokol of Kenya came fifth with a time of 2:51:23 seconds, while Nigeria’s Deborah Pam came sixth position with a time of 2:52:56 seconds.
