Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, on Saturday, grabbed a brace for Stoke City as the hosts denied Manchester United their fourth win of the 2017/18 English Premier League (EPL) season.
The match played at the Britannia Stadium saw Choupo-Moting sweep in the opener for Stoke City from a Biram Diouf cross in the 43rd minute.
But Manchester United equalised two minutes later, just before half-time, after Paul Pogba’s header went in off Marcus Rashford.
The second half saw the Red Devils take the lead through Romelu Lukaku in the 57th minute after he had his initial shot saved by goalkeeper Jack Butland.
However, a second goal by Choupo-Moting through a powerful header from close range in the 63rd minute ensured that Stoke City ended Manchester United’s 100 per cent start to the season.
In other EPL matches also played earlier on Saturday, Manchester City thrashed 10-man Liverpool 5-0 in a one-sided encounter.
Danny Welbeck scored twice as Arsenal returned to winning ways and condemned winless Bournemouth to a fourth successive defeat.
Also, Harry Kane scored his 100th goal for Tottenham in his side’s ruthless 3-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park.
In another match, Chelsea beat Leicester City 2-1 to climb into the top three.
