EPL: Chelsea 7-0 Norwich, Everton 2-5 Watford

Chelsea have retained their place at the top of the Premier League, thanks to a hat trick by Mason Mount and a resounding 7-0 win over 10-man Norwich City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
The hosts were without first-choice strikers Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner, who both suffered injuries in Wednesday’s Champions League win over Malmo FF.
Midfielder Mount opened the scoring on eight minutes with a drilled shot from the edge of the 18-yard box into the bottom left-hand corner as the visitors struggled to keep pace with the league leaders.
Chelsea’s advantage doubled minutes later as winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, who was making his third league start of the season, slotted past Norwich goalkeeper Tim Krul.
Defender Reece James added a third just before the break, as he careered down the right-hand side before chipping home from six yards out.
Thomas Tuchel’s side continued to dominate in the second half, and defender Ben Chilwell took advantage, scoring for a third consecutive Premier League game with a left-footed strike from the edge of the 18-yard box.
Norwich’s day went from bad to worse when defender Max Aarons scored an own goal on 62 minutes and then Ben Gibson was sent off shortly after.
Chelsea were awarded a penalty on 82 minutes for a handball that Mount took but was saved by Krul.
However, the penalty was retaken after it was shown that the Dutch goalkeeper had encroached on the line.
Mount made no mistake with his second attempt and powered it past Krul.
He added his third deep into added time with a shot straight down the middle of Norwich’s goal.
“Before the game, I put pressure on myself to get on the scoresheet, then three came around in the same game.
“It’s obviously a massive moment for me. I’ll remember this one for a long time,” Mount said after the game.
“I was always getting in positions to score, but I just wasn’t putting it in the back of the net. I thought the last one might be offside.
“It was my luck today, but it’s also about the team. We spoke before about being at it from the beginning — we did that today.
“It’s a big moment for me to score three at home at Stamford Bridge.”

Meanwhile, Joshua King grabbed a hat-trick on his return to former club in Watford’s stunning 5-2 English Premier League victory over Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.
It was the visitors’ first win under new manager Claudio Ranieri.
Everton were quick out off the blocks, scoring inside three minutes.
This was when Demarai Gray sprinted down the left, danced past a challenge and crossed the ball into the six-yard box where Tom Davies stuck his foot out for his first goal of the season.
The lead lasted only 10 minutes, however, when King stole in at the back post on a set-piece to fire the ball into the roof of the net after Everton failed to clear the initial delivery.
Everton struggled to make inroads after the early goal and it took the introduction of Richarlison in the second half for them to go ahead.
This was when the Brazilian got on the end of Michael Keane’s whipped cross to head home against his former club.
But Watford silenced the Goodison Park crowd with two goals in two minutes when Juraj Kucka first levelled from another set-piece with a header.
Thereafter, King scored his second from a counter-attack after Everton committed too many players forward.
King completed his hat-trick when Everton’s defence failed to clear a cross into the box, turning Keane before firing it past Pickford, before Emmanuel Dennis scored a fifth in stoppage time.
