NOTICE OF YOUR SUSPENSION AS THE PRESIDENT GENERAL OF ENUGWU-AGIDI BROTHERLY
UNION (EBU-NIGERIA)

This is to inform you that the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of EBU-Nigeria, in its emergency meeting held on Thursday, 20th November 2025 and pursuant to the powers conferred on the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of EBU-Nigeria as delineated in its Functions outlined on Chapter 4, Article 16 (7), Article 18 (1) (2) and Chapter 10, Article 36 (2
– 6), has resolved to suspend you from office as the President General of EBU Nigeria effective immediately.
This decision was taken after a careful consideration of your series of infractions/violations of the EBU Nigeria constitution of 3rd April 2010.
These infractions/violations include, but not limited to, the following:
#1.
Your brazen violation of the EBU National Executive Committee (NEC) policy by unilaterally changing the dates of the EBU 2025 December General Conference (MASS RETURN) and Election to occur on 16th December 2025 instead of the last week of December. This disruptive
decision taken without holding a NEC meeting is an unprecedented deviation from the longestablished precedents of holding the December General Conference meeting on the last week
of December, usually on the 28th and 29th. According to 9 of the 13 members of the current
members of EBU NEC who have signed a letter of protest against you, you did not hold any
NEC meeting before making such a crucial decision. Your action which contravenes Chapter 4,
Article 13 (1) and Article 17 (2) of our EBU Constitution has thrown Enugwu-Agidi into a state of turmoil
#2.
Your consistent refusal to render the financial accounts of the Union’s funds since assuming
office on 29th December 2022, as required by Article 10 (2). This confirms the pervasive claim
that you have engaged in massive embezzlement and defrauded the Union in violation of
Article 36 (1) (e) (j).
#3.
Since assuming office on 29th December 2022, you have consistently refused to present any written budget for the consideration of the CEC as stipulated on Article 22 (1) (j).
Consequently, your administration is marred with lack of accountability, transparency, and consultation of the CEC for any projects in the town.
#4.
Since assuming office on 29th December 2022, you have consistently refused to present a written address at the General Conference (GC) as an account of your stewardship in office,
which is a part of your job description, as stipulated on Chapter 6, Article 22 (k).
Consequently, your administration has never rendered any account of yourstewardship to
Enugwu-Agidi people.
#5.
Your illegal suspension of Ichie Sir (Dr.) Osita Anameze as the Onowu of Enugwu-Agidi and public humiliation of his good name and professional repute on both state, national, and international print and electronic media. Your illegal action which attracted a Letter of Reprimand from Commissioner Tonycollins Nwabunwanne, the Anambra State Commissioner
for Local Government, Town Unions and Chieftaincy Matters, was done in contravention of
Article 36 (1) (a) and 42 (5) of the EBU-Nigeria Constitution.
#6.
Your dissemination of false and malicious information and propaganda to injure the reputation of the Union or its officers or to bring the name of Enugwu-Agidi town into disrepute or ridicule by publicly announcing to the world that Ichie Sir (Dr.) Osita Anameze has been removed as the
Onowu of Enugwu-Agidi contrary to Article 36 (1) (a) and 42 (5) of the EBU Constitution.
#7.
Your aiding and abetting of illegal and pervasive grabbing of Enugwu-Agidi lands by inside and outside operators in contravention of Article 36 (1) (f-g).
#8.
Your connivance with other officers of your administration, namely Moses Nwuba (Treasurer) and Chiedozie Igweonu (Publicity Secretary) and Ozo Jeff Nweke of Ezinano Awka to dispossess a certain group of Enugwu-Agidi people and villages of their ancestral lands in contravention of Article 36 (1) (f-g).
#9.
Usurping the powers of the Council of Elders by meddling in land disputes and accepting bribes from parties involved in land litigation in contravention of Article 32 (1) of the Constitution.
#10.
Allowing land grabbers to bring in bulldozers into Enugwu-Agidi to illegally destroy peoples’ lands, land markers, and eventually selling the lands without the authorization of the landowners in contravention of Chapter 10, Article 36 (g – h) (i) of the Constitution.
#11.
Allowing Ozo Jeff Nweke from Ezinano Awka to grab Enugwu-Agidi lands and rename those
lands as part of Awka town in contravention of Chapter 10, Article 36 (g – h) (i) of the Constitution.
#12.
Acting disrespectfully to the Union or its officers or behaving in a disorderly manner at EBUNigeria meetings by ordering thugs to lockout and manhandle delegates to the CEC meeting and refusing their entrance into the town’s Secretariat in contravention of Article 36 (1) (d).
#13.
Sabotaging the development effort in Enugwu-Agidi by refusing to investigate or intervene in the destruction of barricades installed by Enugwu-Agidi Stakeholder Forum (ESF) at the boundary of Enugwu-Agidi – Amawbia Road in contravention of Chapter 10, Article 36 (g – h)
(i) of the Constitution.
#14.
Manufacturing and disseminating false allegation which was captured in a voice note where you said that HRM Igwe M. C. Okekeuche, Okpalariam III of Enugwu-Agidi is a partisan politician who belongs to All Progressive Congress (APC) political party in order to bring Igwe’s name and
Enugwu-Agidi town into disrepute or ridicule with the ultimate goal of causing the dethronement of Igwe M.C. Okekeuche as the traditional ruler of Enugwu-Agidi.
#15.
Your desecration of the Royal Throne of Igwe Okpalariam III of Enugwu-Agidi by invading his palace with thugsthereby bringing the name of Enugwu-Agidi town into disrepute or ridicule in violation of Article 36 (1) (b) and Chapter 1, Article 5 (viii) of the EBU Constitution.
#16.
Your desecration of funeral ceremonies with thugs in violation of Enugwu-Agidi cultural norms and customs in contravention of Chapter 1, Article 5 (viii) of the Constitution.
#17.
Your flagrant violation of the aims and objective of EBU-Nigeria by parading the town with armed thugs who harass, molest, assault and imprison innocent indigenes of Enugwu-Agidi in contravention of Article 5 (1) of the EBU Constitution.

This suspension shall subsist pending the consideration of a 5-person committee set up to investigate these infractions. The committee will be headed by Hon. Gozie Aniesona.
In the interim, the Vice President-General of EBU Nigeria, Ozo Kenechukwu Darlington Okoye, shall act as the President-General effective immediately.
We request by this notice that you attend the sitting of the 5-person Adhoc Disciplinary Committee at its sitting which would be communicated to you to defend yourself. We also request that you hand over any properties of the EBU Nigeria in your possession within 72 hours to Ozo Darlington Kenechukwu Okoye.

Please, accept our warm regards.
Respectfully.

*Ozo Darlington Kenechukwu Okoye, Vice President General
*MLS Israel Anuta, Secretary General
*Barrister Justin Obuzo, Legal Adviser
and 84 other national officers.
