The dormitory, “Emelummadu B”, housed the Deputy Governor as a student of the institution.

Speaking when she paid a visit to the school on Thursday, July 22,, the Deputy Governor went memory lane . She said:, ” I remembered when I was like you, over there is the school field, there, is the matron’s house, there is class three and so on.

“So, when I walked in, the whole memory came to my mind. Let me use this opportunity to talk to you girls. Any of you can be like me. If I I can be here today, by the special grace of God, each and every one of you would be better than me..

” Do you know what you need? You need to be highly articulated, you need to be very obidient , you need to be prayerful, you need to be obidient to your parents, your seniors. Finally, you need to be very, very humble. With these, , the sky is your limit.

” I was like you. I was a member of the Enugu State House of Assembly. Today, I am a Deputy Governor. I was a health prefect and a member of Emelumadu ‘B’ dormetary. That’s why am renovating the dormetary ,to put my name there, but am not doing it alone. I am doing it in collaboration with the Latter Day Charities” she said.

The Deputy Governor who made presentation of cartons of noodles and berevrages to the school, promised to forward their requests to the State Governor, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

In his brief remarks, the representative of the Latter Day Charitities, Chidi Ibeakuzie, told the gathering that his group, the Latter Day Charities, had been collaborating with Cecilia Ezeilo Foundation for years and the foundation had been a good partner

” I know the heart of Cecilia Ezeilo Foundation and what it does in Enugu State and across the nation.. This is a pet project of Her Excellency. I now have good understanding of when you train a woman , you train the whole world.

“This is what Nigeria needs, a heart that gives and loves, a motherly care.. I pray that God will bless us with more of the type of Hon. Cecilia Ezeilo. It is always a great pleasure to work with her, ” Ibeakuzie said.

Earlier in her address, the principal of Anglican Girl’s Grammar school, Awkunanaw, Enugu, Mrs Nnaemeka -Chigbo , commended the Deputy Governor for her humility, for paying homage to her alma-mater and for renovating house 8A and 8 B which she was “the house captain during her secondary school days.

“Her Excellency, we wish to remind you that the school is 61 years now. It has been our earnest desire to celebrate this diamond Anniversary before the end of the year .We plead with you to make it a reality.”.

She appealed to the Deputy Governor to assist the school in “converting the mission staff to government staff, asphalting the road down from the school gate to other places in the compound and drainages.
