Enugu State Government has advised residents to observe precautionary measures for the containment of the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, saying that “COVID-19 is still with us, please do not be deceived”
A statement from the Enugu State Ministry of Health and the Governor’s Task Force on COVID-19 containment signed by the Commissioner for Health, Dr Emmanuel Ikechukwu Obi, on Thursday, disclosed that the state recorded new confirmed cases on “7th December 2020 – 12 cases, 8th December 2020 – 9 cases, 9th December 2020 – 2 cases, and the
total cases for Enugu State since the outbreak: 1355.
The update added that new discharges on
8th December, 2020 were -5 and total patients discharged were 1,313.
New death: 0 (Nil), total deaths – 21 and number of active cases – 21.
The statement advised people to continue to protect themselves against COVID-19 by avoiding large gatherings, not embarking on non-essential travels; covering their mouths and noses when coughing and sneezing; wearing face masks especially when in public places and washing their hands regularly with soap under running water or using alcohol-based hand sanitizers when running water and soap are not readily available.
