Enugu community crisis: Govt summons LG Chairman, monarch

Worried about the lingering crisis in Amechi Awkunanaw Community of Enugu South Local Government Area, Enugu State and its resultant implications on the peace and security of the community, the state government has summoned the key leaders of the area for a meeting and cautioned all parties involved against breakdown of peace and order.

This was contained in a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Nnanyelugo Chidi Aroh, on Saturday in Enugu.
He said that “the state government is greatly concerned about the unabated crisis and its effect on the peace and security of the community.  

“The state government consequently invited the Chairman of Enugu South Local Government Area, Hon. Monday Eneh, and the Traditional Ruler of Amechi Awkunanaw, H.R.H Igwe Anthony Ogbodo Okorie, to an important meeting with the Commissioner for Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Charles Egumgbe on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, in his office at 10am prompt,” Aroh said.
