The Enugu Coalition Movement (ECM) has endorsed the PDP gubernatorial candidate in Enugu State, Dr Peter Mbah, for the 2023 general elections.

The group, a frontline pro-PDP support group, made this declaration on Wednesday when its members paid a solidarity visit to Mbah in Enugu.

Speaking on behalf of the delegates, the convener,  Dr Chinedu Nwamba, said ECM had at least, 83,000 members with their voter’s cards intact and would be voting en masse for the PDP governorship candidate come March 2023.

He said that Mbah had shown capacity and conviction to render selfless service to the people of the state through the development programms he recently unveiled.

Nwamba praised Mbah’s leadership dexterity and transformative agenda for the state, stressing that the support group was formed because of members faith in what he could do.

“We have been going to local government areas and political wards to tell our people about you and your excellent manifesto. We came to show you solidarity and assure you that we are working for you.

“As things are today, it’s only PDP that is vying for elections in the state and we are confident of your victory,” the convener said.

Corroborating what Nwamba said, the Secretary-General of the group, Mr Patrick Okoh. stated that members were driven by the passion to give Mbah their support and deliver his candidacy.

He said that they had taken the project as their own and had been embarking on grassroots mobilization and political sensitization that would ensure Mbah’s electoral victory.

Responding, Mbah lauded the group for being an epitome of what a support group should be.

Mbah, who commended the structure of the group as impressive, said it was obvious that PDP would secure a landslide victory.

He said the group would be going into the elections well prepared.

The governorship candidate promised not to let the state down if elected in the forthcoming elections.

He urged other support groups to emulate the ECM in grassroots mobilization for the PDP.
