Enoh says Para Games will foster inclusivity in sports

The Minister of Sports Development,  Sen. John Owan Enoh says the National Para Games will foster inclusivity and showcase the resilience of athletes with disability.
The minister stated this on Friday while declaring open the  2nd Edition of the National Para Games at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
He highlighted the significance of the Games as a platform to celebrate the spirit and remarkable abilities of para-athletes.
“The Games stand as a beacon of empowerment and encouragement for athletes with disabilities to pursue their passion for sports at a competitive level,” he said.
Enoh said the Federal Government will continue to promote inclusivity in sports, providing equal opportunities for all athletes to excel and represent their states and the nation with pride.
He expressed admiration for the dedication and perseverance exhibited by the para-athletes.
He commended their courage and tenacity in overcoming challenges to participate in this prestigious event.
The minister  reiterated government’s unwavering support for para-sports, acknowledging the pivotal role such initiatives play in fostering unity, resilience, and national pride.
The official opening of the Games was heralded by a colorful opening ceremony and march-past by contingent from all the states and the FCT.
The week-long Games which encompasses a diverse range of sporting disciplines ends on Dec. 14.
