Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has reflected on her weight loss journey, describing the transformation as one of the most difficult experiences of her life.

The actress shared her story in a post on her Instagram page, where she revealed that she reduced her weight from 170kg to 83kg over a five-year period.

Badmus said the transformation did not happen suddenly, but was the result of discipline, sacrifice, pain, consistency and daily commitment to her health.

According to her, the journey came with tears, setbacks and difficult decisions, but she remains proud of the progress she has made.

The Nollywood star said choosing her health every day required strength and determination.

She also spoke about the emotional impact of living in the public eye while dealing with body-shaming.

Badmus recalled how she faced rejection in the movie industry as a plus-size actress trying to build her career.

She said being repeatedly criticised because of her body had become painful and exhausting.

The actress expressed sadness that some of the people who mocked her when she was plus-size are now also criticising her after losing weight.

She questioned why people continue to attack her appearance instead of acknowledging the effort behind her transformation.

Badmus explained that after losing almost 90kg, changes in the skin are natural and should not become another reason for public ridicule.

She said she is doing her best to maintain her health, use collagen and accept every stage of her body’s transformation.

The actress noted that her silence in the face of online insults should not be mistaken for weakness.

She said hurtful words affect her because she is human and has feelings like everyone else.

Badmus said every time she shares a post, some people find a new reason to criticise her.

She urged people to show kindness and celebrate the strength, resilience and discipline required to undergo such a major lifestyle change.

According to her, people who have nothing kind to say should consider remaining silent rather than tearing others down.

Badmus also addressed women directly, saying much of the bullying she receives comes from fellow women.

She said society often promotes the idea of women supporting women, but that support is missing when another woman is working to become healthier and happier.

The actress called for more compassion, saying kindness costs nothing.

She stressed that nobody deserves to be bullied for being plus-size, and nobody should be mocked for losing weight either.

Badmus said body-shaming in any form is harmful and should not be encouraged.
