#EndSARS protest: Enugu Deputy Governor visits late Ejike’s family

Enugu State Deputy Governor, Mrs Cecilia Ezeilo, has paid a condolence visit to the family of Mr Ejike Okeke, a student of Institute of Management and Technology, (IMT), Enugu who was killed by stray bullet during the #EndSARS protest by hoodlums to loot COVID-19 palliative allegedly stored at Queens School, Enugu.

Ejike, also a fuel attendant, who hailed from Amaogbu in Akama Oghe Ezeagu Local Government Area, was shot dead on Nkpokiti Road, Enugu.

Pained by his death, Enugu State government commiserated with his family.
The Deputy Governor paid a condolence visit to the deceased family ahead of his burial on Friday. She condoled the family , saying that God knows the reason why everything happened . She prayed God to grant the family the the fortitude to bear the lost. The Deputy Governor also prayed for the repose of the souls of late Ejike Okeke.

Responding, mother of the deceased, Mrs Jane Okeke, thanked the Deputy Governor for her mothering care, the visit and her kind words..She described her as a”true leader”. She deserves to be lifted higher. She deserves higher position ,after their tenure, Mrs Okeke said.

Chairman of Ezeagu local government area, Chukwudi Ani, in a brief remark, thanked the Deputy Governor for the visit to condole the Okeke family and ensure the late Ejike is given a befitting burial.. He also condoled the family..

Also speaking, former Special Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Chief Joel Obegolu, commended the Deputy Governor for the visit and kind words . He prayed God to uplift her. Chief Obegolu consoled the family of the deceased ,and prayed God to grant the late Ejike eternal rest.
