The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, at the weekend, married Sa’adatu Barkindo-Mustapha, daughter of the Lamido of Adamawa, Dr Barkindo Mustapha.
The 18-year-old Sa’adatu is the fourth wife of the Emir.
The event was held in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.
She recently completed her secondary school studies.
Muhammadu Sanusi II, the immediate past Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has three other wives – Sadiya, the daughter of the late Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero, Maryam and Rakiya.
Freedom Online learned that the wedding fatiha was held inside the palace of the Lamido, minutes after the Jumma’at prayer.
At the palace were a few close friends of the Emir to witness the wedding.
Governors Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State and Jibrilla Bindow of Adamawa State were the Guardians of the Groom and Bride respectively.
In fact, it was Bindow who gave out the hand of Sa’adatu in marriage.
Those who witnessed the marriage were treated to sumptuous meals, amidst drumming and dancing.
