Dr. Awele Elumelu, the 53-year-old wife of billionaire banker, businessman and philanthropist, Tony Elumelu, has completed a 42-kilometre marathon.
Eulogising Dr. Awele, former minister, Dr. Osita Chidoka, wrote on his Facebook wall:

“Completing a marathon requires discipline, strength, mental toughness and commitment.
Running 42 km is not moimoi. It is gruelling. It is painful on your feet for over 4 hours. It is stressful, the hours of practice and the injuries. At 30km, you are asking yourself why did you sign up for this.
“At 53, it is an achievement of indescribable proportions. I should know.
She is an example to follow. Age, wealth, and position should not deter you from enjoying the simple things of life, like sweating. No excuses.
