All Progresssives Congress (APC) Governors, under the aegis of Progressive Governors Forum, have expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the National Council of State meeting which held on Thursday at the State House, Abuja.
This is contained in a communiqué signed by Governor Rochas Okorocha, Chairman of the forum and governor of Imo State.
The communique expressed satisfaction with the assurances given by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki, on the state of preparedness for the February 14 and 28 general elections.
”The Chairman of INEC had assured Council that INEC is ready to proceed with elections as scheduled.
It further said that the Chairman of the commission had told the meeting that INEC had a more robust system to handle the election when compared to its situation in 2011.
The communique advised all governors to engage the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria in their respective states with a view to resolving the strike embarked upon by its members..
There had been repeated calls by the APC to Nigerians and the international community to prevail on INEC to hold elections as scheduled.
