Egwuekwe wants West Ham switch

Super Eagles defender, Azubuike Egwuekwe, has disclosed that a lot of negative things happened to his celebrated move to Israeli club, Hapoel Tel Aviv.
The club announced via their official website, www. hapoelta-fc.co.il, in January that a move for the 25-year-old centre half had been completed but that was far from the truth.
Egwuekwe has now moved to clarify the situation surrounding the failed move and also revealed that he would love to join Barclays English Premier League club, West Ham United in the summer.
“Several things went wrong (with that deal to join Hapoel). There were some minor details but by the grace of God, those issues have now been sorted out. I will very likely move (away from current club, Warri Wolves) in the summer,” Egwuekwe said.
The Super Eagles defender added that while it looks extremely likely that he would leave Wolves in the next few months, his next destination appears anything but certain.
“I still don’t know if I will go to Hapoel in the summer. I really don’t know. Everything is in God’s hands but what I know is that I will likely leave in the summer,” he said.
In January, British newspaper, the Mirror reported that Warri Wolves rejected a move for Egwuekwe.
Wolves were holding out for £4 million, valuation the London club were unwilling to match but Egwuekwe has stated that he has already set his heart on a move to the London club.
“Like I said earlier, the future can only be decided by God but if I had to make a choice, I would love to go to West Ham,” he said.
Egwuekwe, who was part of the Nigerian squad at the 2014 Fifa World Cup has scored twice in 34 senior appearances for Nigeria.
