Super Eagles’ Interim Coach Austin Eguavoen is worried stiff over the fitness level of Nigeria’s number one Striker, Victor Osimhen.
The Eagles forward, in the colours of Galasataray, sustained injury over a week ago in a Turkish League match against Kasimpasa which ended 3-3.
Osimhen scored two first half goals but was taken out after first half due to injury. The player is on loan to Turkey from Napoli of Italy.
However, the Eagles handler is preparing for the forthcoming back-to-back AFCON qualifiers against Libya on October 11 in Uyo and October 15 in Tripoli.
Eguavoen admitted Nigeria is blessed with quality strikers that can do the job but added he prefers to have all his squad members for the encounter.
“No coach will pray not to have his best striker. We have many of them good enough to get us the results but I still hope to have Osimhen. For now, we are waiting for the doctors’ report to know his fitness level,” Eguavoen said.
