Egg dethrones Kylie Jenner as Instagram’s ‘Most-Liked’ picture

A picture of an egg has overtaken reality star Kylie Jenner as the owner of the most-liked Instagram photo ever on Monday.
The photograph, which has over 27 million likes, was uploaded on January 4 with the explicit aim of overtaking Jenner’s record breaking announcement of her baby’s birth which scored 18 million likes in 2018.
An official instagram page @world_record_egg was created for the stunt and the egg is the only picture on the page which currently has almost three million followers.
The photo was captioned, “Let’s set a world record together and get the most liked post on Instagram beating the current world record held by Kylie Jenner (18 million). We got this.”
In an Instagram story responding to the win, the account’s owner ‘Egg Gang’ said, “This is madness. What a Time to be alive,” and thanked their followers for support.
Reacting, Kylie Jenner took to her Instagram page @kyliejenner to post a short video of herself cracking an egg onto the hot tarmac road with the caption, “Take that little egg.”
The feat has caused a buzz on social media among fans as several parody accounts have sprung up bearing similar names with the egg account.
Fans also praised Jenner’s response to the moment.
