Embattled former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh, was on Thursday arraigned in Abuja on a two-count charge bordering on alleged destruction of evidence against him.
He was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) before Justice Ishaq Bello of a High Court sitting at Maitama.
He was brought to the court in handcuffs, the second time in a week that he was handcuffed.
It was alleged that Metuh, facing another seven-count charge before Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja, tore and attempted to swallow a confessional statement he made while undergoing interrogation.
By the action, the EFCC said that Metuh committed an offence contrary to Sections 166 and 326 of the Penal Code Act.
Justice Bello adjourned hearing on Metuh’s bail application till January 25.
