Voters in Edo on Saturday commended the improvement in the use of Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) as well as early arrival of electoral materials.
The Materials arrived in most polling units in Edo before 7 a.m as against the experience during the Feb. 25 Presidential and National Assembly election, where electoral officers arrived late to their duty posts.
Mr Joe Ogbemudia, who cast his vote at Unit 06, Ward 02, Oredo Local Government Area, said the improvement was worth commending the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for.
“For the INEC, it has kind of improved on the exercise, may be it is borrowing a leave from the failures of the last elections two weeks ago.
“They (electoral officers) came early; we can’t take that away from them and all the materials were available,” said Ogbemudia.
Similarly, Mrs Favour Erumah, like so many respondents, said the process was seamless than the February poll.
“I will say this time, INEC did very well in the aspect of bringing materials to the polling units; but what we have is a voter apathy everywhere.
“I have visited a lot of units as an observer, I think Nigerians are just tired or angry or just unhappy because of mindset created that their votes may not count,” he said.
