The Evangelical Church Winning All on Friday in Jos advised incoming administrations at all levels to be just, fair and treat all Nigerians equally.

President of the Church, Rev. Stephen Baba-Panya, gave the advice in a communique issued at the end of the church’s 70th General Church Council.

Baba-Panya, advised incoming administrations to learn from the shortcomings of past administrations to better the lot of Nigerians and endure that they recruited only credible political appointees.

“Council admonishes incoming administrations at all levels to learn from the flaws of past administrations, and ensure equity and fairness in appointments to reflect the federal character.

“Governments at all levels should listen to the yearnings of the masses and ensure the practice of true democracy founded on the rule of law,’’ the communiqué read.

Baba-Panya also advised incoming governments to ensure the protection and safety of lives and property of Nigerians, noting that many parts of the country were currently under siege.

He also condemned on-going killings in parts of the country.

The president commended the Federal Government on the forthcoming April national population census, which he said was long overdue.

Nigeria conducted its last census 17 years ago, seven years after it was supposed to have held.

Baba-Panya, however, called on the current administration to postpone the exercise and allow the incoming government to conduct the exercise.

“We call on the National Population Commission to be honest, just and equitable and justify the conduct of the exercise.

“We also advise the Federal Government to postpone the exercise till the incoming administration settles down,’’ the communiqué also read.
