The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), says it has deployed 2,000 personnel to ensure hitch-free and peaceful Easter celebrations in Kaduna State.
The Commandant of the Corps, Idris Adah stated this in a statement by its Spokesman DSC Habeeb Badamasi, on Thursday in Kaduna.
He said the personnel would be deployed to public and strategic places across the 23 local government areas of the state.
According to him, presence of security operatives across the state will ginger the citizens to move freely without fear of criminals because they know security operatives are everywhere to guard, protect lives and property including critical national assets.
“Protection of lives and property is one of our mandate. We have been doing that and that is why there is relative peace in the state.
“We beef up security everyday, against criminal elements, especially during festive period.
“Although there has been a drastic reduction of security challenges due to the presence of security operatives across the state, there is the need to clean up the remnants of criminals,” he said, adding that the officers and men of the corps are on ground to discharge their responsibilities.
The Commandant urged residents of the state to go about their normal businesses and feel free to worship.
While wishing all Christians Happy Easter celebrations, Adah advised them to be vigilant, report suspicious persons movements to security agencies .
