super_eaglesThe players and coaches of the Super Eagles of Nigeria were warmly received on arrival in the United States where they have been scheduled to play an international friendly match against Mexico on Friday.

The Eagles were given a warm reception by American journalists and some Nigerian fans who almost mobbed them.

The coach Stephen Keshi-led team touched down at about 2.40pm local time (8.40pm West African Time) . After airport formalities the team arrived the Westin Galleria Hotel in West Alabama, Houston at 4.20 pm local time, had lunch and trained at 7.30pm (1.30am WAT).

Coach Stephen Keshi said: “All is well with the team and we are looking forward to a great game against Mexico on Friday.”

There was a brief media chat with the local press and members of the team at the Houston International Airport where Keshi stated that the game against Mexico would afford him the opportunity to try some new players in preparation for the 2014 World Cup qualifying matches with Kenya and Namibia next month.

While rating Mexico highly, he further said the South Americans will not find it easy against Nigeria.
