African champions, the Super Eagles have finally landed in Abidjan, in readiness for the battle against the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire in the second leg qualifiers for the African Nations Championship (CHAN).
The team of 18 players and officials arrived in Abidjan at exactly 10:50 local time, which is 11:50am Nigerian time and was well received by members of the Ivorien FA.
The bus that took the team to its hotel in the heart of the city took about half an hour to reach its destination at the Ibis Hotel. The team promptly checked in and took its lunch immediately. The Eagles will have its first training session at 3:30pm local time which is 4:30 Nigerian time to coincide with the time the game will be played on Saturday.
The captain of the home-based Eagles, goalkeeper Chigozie Agbim, urged his team to do everything possible to record an away victory against the Elephants in Abidjan. “It is possible and that is our target.
“We have worked hard to achieve this and we shall be going all out to get the desired three points right in front of the Ivorian fans.”
