Duro Onabule, Gbenga Daniel and political prank in Ogun State

Truly, a leopard can never change its skin. What does Uncle Duro want His Excellency, Otunba Gbenga Daniel to say? What he knows about or what he does not know anything about?
It is quite unfortunate that a man we suppose to be looking up to in communication could belittle his knowledge of the subject this low for the reason best known to him.
An ex Governor was called by a set of ljebu people to deliver a speech in a reception organised for an elected Governor based on his experience as an ex Governor and he chose to say what he knew about their environment, why should this irk anybody?
If Uncle forgot, a Speaker audience is as important as the facts he might want to say.
Otunba Gbenga Daniel, as a seasoned administrator, knew this and that was why he had to concentrate his speech on what he knew about projects in Ijebu province.
He kept his audience at heart and matched same successfully with his facts. His audience were people of Ijebu province and he could only satisfy the essence of his lecture by concentrating on some of the abandoned projects in the province that can impact positively on the audience if reactivated.
I am cocksure that His Excellency could have ditched out another masterpiece were the reception was somewhere in Egba province. This is what Uncle Duro calls vengeance; to him, saying what you know is reducing an elected Governor to Boy Boy. Is Uncle envious of the preference of His Excellency over him as the guest speaker in a reception taking place in his home town?
We are talking here of the management of Ogun State resources and the organisers of the reception placed more premium on the experience of the ex Governor than Uncle tutelage under his boss, President Babangida. He can, therefore, wait till other time when the theme of the discussion would be centred around why his boss annulled June 12 election.
It does not take anybody time to see the angle from which Uncle Duro is coming. As a clever writer, he chooses to launder and laud His Excellency, Governor Ibikunle Amusun’s battered image with his red herring.
Why he constantly and repeatedly pays lip service to the ill treatment the Ijebu suffered under the regime, the clever writer purses his laundering objective by reminding us of one or two bridges constructed by the draconian government. In contrary, he chooses to demystify OGD by not just degrades the Governor’s effort in Yemoji Water Works but even goes ahead to instruct the elected Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, to probe Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s work in the said water works. Haba Uncle!!! Ki la gbe, ki la ju? When will you actually stop this bellyache? You begrudge truth Sir!!!
OGD talked about Amosun’s efforts to disband TASUED, was it not truth? You begrudge truth Sir. OGD talked about cargo airport in Iperu, Amosun did not just kill the project, he went ahead to ground another airport in Abeokuta while he completely and deliberately killed the proposed one in Ijebu province, was that not truth? You begrudge truth Sir!!!
Amosun intentionally closed his eyes to the ongoing Olokola oil project between the State Government and Dangote company till we eventually lost the big project to Lagos State. Was that not truth? You begrudge truth Sir!!!
What harm has the location of the ultra modern stadium in Ijebu Ode to you? Really, being the Chairman of NTA is no doubt intoxicating. OGD is in the class of his own, an exemplary administrator none can rubbish. A perfect Omoluwabi to the core. He came to office and never witch hunted his predecessor like Amosun. Were him to do that, His Excellency, Governor Olusegun Osoba might be a guest to EFCC for one reason or the other.
I do not know any mismanagement of fund concerning Governor Osoba but what does it cost any sitting Governor to cook up cock and bull story with a view to indicting his predecessor before EFCC in Amosun’s version? What harm has OGD done to Amosun that has suddenly become vengeance? Has he asked bulldozer to bulldoze any Ex Governor’s father’s tomb as Amosun did to him? He who comes to equity must come with clean hands Sir. Lastly, your advice to the elected Governor notwithstanding, your assumption of the meekness of Prince Dapo Abiodun as a Boy Boy is unexpected of a man of your calibre. I expect you Sir to have learnt from the words of Professor Wole Soyinka that ” a tiger must not necessarily display its tigritude before people can know it is a tiger”. That you are not of the same chips does not by any means make him a Boy Boy…love and hugs.
