Dream Team VI assistant coach, Fatai Amoo, has said that his side is ready for the toughest challenge in the All Africa Games (AAG) qualifying match against Zambia.
Nigeria will confront Zambia in the AAG final round first game on Sunday at the Abuja National Stadium.
Amoo said his side has worked on the deficiencies noted in the last game against Gabon in Abuja with the sole aim of achieving a resounding victory against the visitors.
“The clash against Zambia is most likely to be the toughest qualifying match so far when you consider the almost flawless youth development programmes of Southern African states.
“Zambia have shown lot of seriousness in their preparations for this crucial encounter, a clear indication that they want to be in Congo Brazzaville same as ourselves so the encounter is certain to be crunchy and difficult.
“Of course, we’re quite aware that this fixture is the first leg as the second and decisive leg will be played in Lusaka so we know we must win and win convincingly to make the job over there in Lusaka a bit easier.
“The last qualifying match against Gabon though we won 2-0 our performance wasn’t convincing and perfect so we’ve to tighten the loose end to ensure flawless performance against Zambia.
“We want to be in Congo Brazzaville and this clash will serve as an acid test to our preparedness to qualify for the quadrennial multiple sports event.
“We’ll work very hard to meet the expectations of Nigerians as well as the teeming supporters,” the former Super Eagles assistant coach said.
The winners of the two-legged encounter will automatically qualify for the football event of the 2015 All Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville.
