A university don, Dr.Surag Olunifesi, has stressed the importance of education and training in raising God’s ministers.

Speaking as a Guest speaker at the annual graduation of God’s servants at Divine Favour Theological and Specialized Seminary, Mowe, Ogun State on Saturday, Dr.Surag stated that it was impossible for God’s servants to properly function without adequate education and training .

Quoting from various sections of the Holy Bible, Dr.Surag pointed out that education and training were major mandate and requirements to serve God as it was plainly declared in the book of 2 Timothy 2:15 that “study to show thyself approved unto God”.

The communication scholar argued that education and training would further make God’s servants to be strong, proficient and increase in strength.

He observed that education and training are profitable measures as “it is not good for the soul to be without knowledge “( Pro 19:2).

Quoting from the book of 2 Peter 1:10 , Dr. Surag described education and training as one of the surest ways of giving due diligence to the calling of God’s servants.

He opined that without education and training, it would be difficult for God’s servants to fulfil the scriptural injunction in which God instructed that ” write the vision and make it plain upon tables that he may run that readeth it”(Heb 2:2).

Dr.Surag further described education and training as major requirements in the service of God as they are ways to realise God’s instruction on iron sharpening iron (Pro 27:17).

A total of 12 ministers from various ministries and churches graduated at the ceremony.

The Rector of the Seminary, Dr.Tayo Popoola, congratulated the ministers, their wives and relatives on their achievements.

He urged them to use the knowledge they have received from the Seminary to promote God’s work and never to commercialise God’s gifts in their lives according to the word of Jesus Christ as contained in Mt.10:8.
