*A BOLD STEP TOWARDS RESTORING SECURITY AND PUBLIC CONFIDENCE

Engr. Dideolu Falobi, former aspirant in the Osun State All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial race, has commended the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the courageous and strategic appointment of Omoba Olatunji Disu as Acting Inspector-General of Police.

According to Engr. Falobi, the decision by President Tinubu — as reflected in the State House directive charging the new Acting IGP to restore peace, strengthen national security, and rebuild public confidence — demonstrates decisive leadership at a time when Nigerians demand firmness, professionalism, and innovation from the nation’s security architecture.

“This appointment is not accidental; it is a clear statement that competence, loyalty to national interest, and a proven operational track record remain the defining standards of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” Falobi stated. “Omoba Tunji Disu represents a new generation of disciplined and reform-minded police leadership capable of confronting banditry, terrorism, organised crime, and threats to national stability.”

Falobi noted that President Tinubu’s personal acknowledgement of Disu’s performance during his service years in Lagos underscores a leadership style that rewards results and recognises excellence. He described the President’s public pledge of full support to the Acting IGP as a strong signal that security reform will remain central to the administration’s priorities.

“Security is the foundation upon which economic growth, investor confidence, and social stability are built. By placing a tested professional at the helm of the Nigeria Police Force, Mr. President has again shown that he is prepared to take bold decisions in the national interest,” he added.

Engr. Falobi also paid tribute to the outgoing Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for his service to the nation, noting that continuity and institutional memory remain vital as the new leadership advances reforms within the Force.

He urged officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force, as well as other security agencies, to rally behind the Acting IGP and align with the President’s directive to lead firmly but fairly while prioritising the protection of lives and property across Nigeria.

“As stakeholders in the progress of our great party and our nation, we must recognise that restoring public trust in our institutions requires courage, discipline, and unwavering political will. President Tinubu has once again demonstrated that leadership,” Falobi concluded.
