Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State has pledged to inaugurate more projects in the first quarter of 2017.
Dickson said the measure would change the landscape of the state in demonstration of his administration’s preparedness to bequeath enduring legacies.
A statement issued on Friday by Mr Daniel Iworiso-Marson, Chief Press Secretary to the governor, quoted Dickson as making the pledge at a social forum held in honour of members of the Bayelsa House of Assembly.
The party was held at the Governor’s new office complex in Government House, Yenagoa.
Dickson commended the lawmakers while commenting on the cordial working relationship existing between the Executive and Legislative arms of the government.
Dickson noted that the occasion was to underscore his appreciation for the collaboration that had blossomed between the two critical arms of the government over the years.
“All the mega projects embarked upon by the government is possible because of the support we have received, and for the fact that, we are on the same page with the House of Assembly.
“I assure Bayelsa people that in the next three months, the people of the state will marvel at the level of infrastructure transformation that will take place across the land,” Dickson said.
Describing the governor’s new office as an edifice that would stand the test of time, in service to the people, Dickson said hosting the legislators was heart warming and historic.
The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr Konbowei Benson, expressed gratitude to Dickson and his entire cabinet for fostering a peaceful and harmonious relationship between the two arms of the government.
Benson described Dickson as a visionary leader who has the zeal to develop the state and take it to greater heights.
The speaker underscored the need for both arms to continue to work together for the peace, growth and development of the state.
