Dickson pledges to connect coastal communities with road if re-elected

Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State, on Wednesday, said he would open up Oporoma area in Ekeremor Local Government Area and made it accessible by road, if re-elected.
Dickson, who is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the December 5 governorship poll in the South-South, state made the pledge Oporomo as he concluded his two-day campaign tour of the area.
He also pledged to build more bridges to link the coastal areas with the urban cities.
He acknowledged that Ekeremor was the second largest local government area in the state, after Yenagoa, and said that he would connect communities in the area with roads and link the area with other parts of the state.
“I am here to do more as I have promised you in the earlier time with the restoration team,” he said.
Dickson urged eligible voters in the area to vote for him, saying that they deserved more.
The Director-General of Dickson/Jonah Campaign Organisation, Fred Agbedi, assured that the PDP candidate would consolidate on the job he was doing in the state.
Agbedi said that PDP government in the state had delivered the dividends of democracy to the rural people, and urged them to retain the current administration through their votes
Addressing the people, a former deputy governor of the state, Mr Peremobowei Ebebi, appealed to them to shun violence and thuggery during and after the election.
He assured Dickson of ‘’total’’ support from people of the area to enable to return to ‘’Creek Haven’’ government house.
Ebebi appealed to the Federal Government to beef up security in the state to ensure peace and order during the election.
