Despite the defection of Alhaji Ahmed Ibeto from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), he remains the deputy governor of Niger State.
This was disclosed on Tuesday by Governor Babangida Aliyu.
Aliyu said, while collecting his Permanent Voter Card (PVC) in Minna, that he would not infringe on the rights and privileges of Ibeto and “he remains the deputy governor until May when we will leave office”.
“He is free to associate with any person or group. That will not mean he will be denied any of his rights and privileges as deputy governor of the state,” he said.
