Dayo Kujore dies at 63

Juju musician, Dayo Kujore, is dead.

The ‘Soko Extra’ crooner was 63.

Kujore, one of the pioneers of the Nigerian styled musical art form, died on Monday, according to his daughter.

He was born on April 4, 1958 in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

He began playing the guitar at 10 and rose to become popular for creating a new tune from the Juju genre called Soko music.

Dayo Kujore played alongside Sir Shina Peters and Segun Adewale in General Prince Adekunle’s band before going solo.

Some of his albums include Elevation, Wisdom, Joy, Easy Life, and the popular Soko Xtra
