Daniel receives report of Omu Ijebu Initiative on Poverty Reduction

Former Governor of Ogun State and All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Candidate for Ogun East District, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, on Sunday, received report of the Omu Ijebu Initiative on Poverty Reduction from HRH, Oba M. O. Mosuro, the Olomu of Omu Ijebu and Engr. Olusegun Lawal, Baale of Erebe.

The Poverty Reduction initiative programme was started 12 years ago with a Seed Capital of N5 million solely provided by Daniel.

About 15 groups and associations have benefitted from the scheme while 109 Traders have also benefitted from the microcredit scheme which has greatly assisted their small and medium scale businesses to thrive.

In the report prepared by Toyin Obatosin and presented by Kabiyesi Olomu, the Seed Capital has since appreciated.
Daniel thanked Kabiyesi Olomu and the team for making a success out of the scheme and decided to donate the capital and other tangible assets acquired to the Community under the control of Omu Central Development Committee (OCDC) to be supervised and administered by the Kabiyesi for the benefits of future beneficiaries.
