Former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has condoled with family members of Chief Vincent Ogbulafor, former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who died in Canada on Friday.
He was 73.
Daniel, the senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC – Ijebu East District) for the February 25, 2023 elections, also commiserated with Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and people of Abia State over the loss of Ogbulafor who he described as “one of the best PDP chairmen since 1999”.
Ogbulafor, a Commissioner in Abia State, Minister and former National Secretary of PDP, emerged as the party’s National Chairman on March 8, 2008.
Daniel described Ogbulafor as a patriot who contributed his quota to national development and ensured stability “at a critical time”.
“As Minister of Economic Planning, he positioned Nigeria very well, laid a solid foundation for sustainability and served the country with quality and unprecedented dedication.
“With his administrative, capacity and experiences, he was always available, to solve one problem or the other. He clearly demonstrated unwavering commitment to the ideals of nationhood. An orator, he was firm in the discharge of his duties.
“Nigeria has really lost a passionate, consummate and national figure but we take solace in the exemplary life of service he lived.
“I pray that God, in His infinite mercies, will grant the deceased eternal rest and the immediate family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss”.
