Malam Haruna Dangyatin (APC-Miga) has been elected as the Speaker of the 8th Jigawa House of Assembly.
This followed his nomination by Malam Hamza Ibrahim (APC-Malam-madori) and secondment by Malam Kabir Ibrahim (APC-Birnin Kudu) shortly after the proclamation of the Assembly by the Clerk on Wednesday in Dutse.
The lawmakers thereafter elected Dangyatin unopposed as the speaker of the House.

Malam Sani Isya (APC-Gumel) was also elected as the deputy speaker, after he was nominated by Mr Aliyu Ahmad (APC-Kirikasamma) and seconded by Mr Lawan Ahmad (APC-Roni)

The new speaker and his deputy were sworn in by the Clerk of the House, Mr Musa Abubakar as provided by the law.
