Four officials of the Dream Team and the two remaining alternate players on the roster have been told to leave the Olympics Village immediately.
They flew out of Brazil to Nigeria on Monday on the orders of the Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung.
The affected persons included the Media Officer, Timi Ebikagboro, curator, team coordinator, Stanley Dimgba and goalkeeper Yusuf Mohammed.
The reason they have been sent back to Nigeria is that they are not included in the official 25 accredited persons (that is 18 players and seven officials) allowed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and both the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Sports Ministry are unable to continue footing their bills in Brazil.
Meanwhile, NFF President, Amaju Pinnick, will arrive Sao Paulo on Tuesday to support the Dream Team in his capacity as leader of the football team to the 2016 Rio Olympics.
