WAFU U-17: Nigeria defeat Burkina Faso, qualify for final

Tunisian club CS Sfaxien have won the CAF Confederation Cup title on a 3-2 aggregate over DR Congo side TP Mazembe.

The Tunisians lost the second leg final match played in Lubumbashi on Saturday 1-2.

But they won their third Confederation Cup title following the 2-0 success in the first leg match at Rades, Tunisia last week.

An 89th minute header from Fakhreddine Ben Youssef cut down the hosts lead, and consequently gave the Tunisian side victory, after the match appeared to be heading for a deadlock.

The victory was made certain after CS Sfaxien had been under pressure for most of the match and trailed 2-0 after 24 minutes.

TP Mazembe’s strikers Cheibane Traore and Mbwana Samatta had found the net to give the DR Congo team hope.

The DR Congo side piled on the pressure and came close to finding a crucial third several times.

But they were either wasteful in front of goal or denied by the Tunisian goalkeeper and the crossbar.
