Crisis in Adamawa APC over ministerial nominee

There is crisis in Adamawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), no thanks to the nomination of Muhammad Musa Bello as a ministerial nominee.
To the state APC Public Relations Officer (PRO), Alhaji Ahmed Lawal, the party is not aware of the nomination of Bello “because he has never been part of any campaign or contributed to the growth of the party in whatever way in the state”.
According to Lawal, even if Bello is confirmed as a minister, majority of party members in the North-East state would never support him “because he is not one of us”.
“The nomination of Muhammad Musa Bello is a surprise to us as a party. Nobody is aware of the development in the state only to see him appears in the senate chamber to be screened. No consultation was made to the party and our advice was not sought on who to be given the Adamawa ministerial slot”.
Another party stalwart who convinced former Governor Murtala Nyako to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC, Dr. Umar Duhu, declared that Bello’s nomination would divide the party.
But spokesman of Governor Muhammadu Bindow Jibrilla declared that the state government was behind Bello’s nomination.
“Senator Muhammad Jibrilla expresses total endorsement of the ministerial nominee from Adamawa State, Ahaji Muhammad Musa Bello. We appeal to all the three senators from the state to ensure that the nomination secures their endorsement”.
