The Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) has concluded arrangements to organise the maiden edition of the Umpire and Scorers Seminar in Abuja, an official has said.
Musa Ehizoje, the Public Relations Officer of NCF, said on Thursday in Abuja that the seminar was to expose umpires and scorers to new developments in the sport.
“Following Nigeria’s participation at the just concluded International Cricket Council-Africa Umpire Seminar in South Africa, the umpires at home have a lot to learn. From the outcome of the seminar that ran through August 27 to August 31, the federation decided to organise a one-day umpire and scorers seminar on September 12.
“Over 19 participants, drawn across the country are expected to participate in the seminar. The programme will help update the knowledge of the umpires and enable them maintain and improve on the standards of officiating,’’ Ehizoje said.
Ehizoje represented Nigeria in the ICC-Africa Umpire seminar with nine others from different African countries.
