COVID-19: Group donates 48,000 nose masks to Enugu Govt

Audi Company Limited, in partnership with Mikano International Limited, on Friday, donated 48,000 pieces of nose masks to Enugu State Government, to assist the state fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

Presenting the items Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi at the Government House, Enugu, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Audi Company Limited, Clem Ifezue, said that the gesture was one of their company’s social responsibilities.

He said that they had been going to states, assisting them, adding that the donation was to assist Enugu State in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
He said, “People said that the third wave will come, we pray it will not come”.

Ifezue said that they chose Enugu “because Enugu is the Eastern hub”.
“The economic environment in Enugu State is very okay, the security is okay”, he said. In terms of security, the Managing Director/CEO rated Enugu high.
He announced that his company will establish an office in Enugu in a few days time. The Enugu office, he said, will serve the South-East zone.

According to him, the nose masks donated were made by the company.
He disclosed that the idea to produce nose masks came up in 2020, as a result of the outbreak of COVID-19 outbreak.
Apart from the production of nose masks, the company assemblies vehicles.
He said that Enugu State has been a good partner to their company. He was optimistic that their coming to Enugu would strengthen their relationship with the state.
In a remark after receiving the items on behalf of the Deputy Governor, Mrs Cecilia Ezeilo, who also represented the governor, the Permanent Secretary, Deputy Governor’s Office, Lolo Chioma Ugwu, thanked the group for their kind gesture.
She said that the nose masks would go a long way in helping the people of Enugu fight the spread of COVID-19 in the state.
Present at the presentation were the Chief Of Protocol, Government House, Dr. Bath Ezeugwu, representative of Enugu State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, Chinasa Mbah, and others.
