Court remands man for allegedly stealing electricity cables

An Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court in Osun, on Monday, remanded a 23-year old man, Ibrahim Hosseni in a correctional facility for allegedly stealing electricity cables.

Hosseni whose address was not provided, is being charged with stealing and vandalism.
The Prosecutor, Asp Emmanuel Abdullahi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence at about 5.00p.m on June 15, at Oduduwa Roundabout, Ipetumodu, Ife North Local Government Area.
Emmanuel said that the defendant conspired with others now at large, to willfully vandalise and steal electricity cables belonging to the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Sections 390(9), 430, 451 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
Magistrate Abosede Sarumi ordered the remand of the defendant in a correctional centre in Ile-Ife, and adjourned the case until July 8, for mention.
