The Chancellor of Trinity University, Yaba, Lagos State, Mr Samuel Adedoyin, has called for sustained government investment in youth-focused initiatives.
He said on Friday that empowering young Nigerians would yield long-term dividends and strengthen inclusive national development.
Adedoyin made the call in an address at the Fourth Convocation Ceremony of the university.
He said that Nigerian youths would be leaders and changemakers of tomorrow.
He thanked governments for efforts so far on student and youth-focused initiatives aimed at empowering and equipping them for the future.
“We encourage continued progress in this direction.
“With the right support, young Nigerians can drive innovation, tackle challenges and build a more prosperous and inclusive nation.
“There should be more policies that foster growth and create opportunities for young Nigerians, as this will yield dividends for the nation,” he said.
The chancellor charged the graduating students to be focused, innovative and resilient.
According to him, Nigeria needs more problem-solvers and changemakers.
“You have been thoroughly equipped. Go out there and make your marks.
“Use your skills to tackle challenges, spark innovation and create impact. Be part of those shaping Nigeria’s future positively,” he said.
In his remarks, Mr Adebowale Tade, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Trinity University, expressed delight at the progress and growth recorded by the institution which was founded in 2019.
Tade re-affirmed the board’s commitment to supporting the university’s mission and vision.
He added that the board would continue to provide strategic guidance and ensure that the university would remain on the path of growth and excellence.
Tade commended the graduating students for dedication and accomplishments.

“Find it, own it, and make impact. Let integrity be your compass and let service with passion and excellence be your standard,” he said.
The university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Clement Kolawole, described the occasion as a celebration of successes, sacrifices and determination.
He attributed the institution’s achievements to God’s guidance.
Kolawole urged the graduating students to remain disciplined, manage time effectively, and develop their potential.
He said that the university graduated a total of 212 students from its Faculty of Arts at the event, adding that its Faculty of Social and Management Sciences produced 101 graduates, while Basic and Applied Medical Sciences had 64, and Nursing Science, 35.
Kolawole said that 12 students of the university’s Centre for Addiction Science and Behavioural Psychology also graduated.
Kolawole said that 51 graduating students obtained First-Class Division and 61 secured Second Class (Upper Division).
“Mr Emmanuel Tanimowo of Computer Science and Miss Adeyeye Oluwatofunmi of Mass Communication recorded perfect CGPA of 5.00,” he said.
The two best graduating students were rewarded with N250,000 each by Jake’s Embassy Ltd, at the event.
