A popular cocoa magnate in Ondo State, Mr. Michael Adewunmi, has been kidnapped.
Adewunmi, the Executive Secretary of Cocoa Association of Nigeria (CAN), was abducted on Thursday.
He left his office for a business meeting when the incident took place.
Freedom Online learned that he even told his secretary to wait for him in the office before going for the meeting.
His black Toyota Lexus Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), ONDO ANG 149 AA, was abandoned by the kidnappers at Akinjo Junction, Oshokoti, Akure.
When the secretary did not see him, the wife was contacted who also said she had been trying to get him.
Some passersby later saw the SUV where it was parked with mobile phones on the ground and they immediately contacted the police.
The vehicle had been towed to the police station. The phones are also with detectives.
The kidnappers are yet to contact his family members.
