The All Progressives Congress (APC) has been warned not to overheat the polity through selfish directives to its members at the federal and state levels.
The Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP) in Ekiti State said in the interest of all Nigerians, the APC should withdraw its threat to block the passage of the 2014 Budget and confirmation of Service Chiefs by its lawmakers in the National Assembly.
The CNPP Chairman, Mr. Tunji Ogunlola, said such a threat could shut down government and put Nigerians into unprecedented hardship.
Ogunlola said: “I think the leaders of APC must withdraw the threat. This is not good for Nigeria as a nation and the best thing is to rescind the decision.”
The CNPP leader, who was re-elected for a second term, appealed to all the parties to approach the June 21 Ekiti governorship election with utmost civility, saying they should place the interest of the state above partisan interests.
